AN URGENT MESSAGE FROM DALE LONG, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear Friend of Least of These Ministries,
Because of your faithful and long-lasting support of Least of These Ministries (LOTM), lives have been changed across Haiti in the name of Christ. You’ve helped us deliver food, medicine, and compassion to people in desperate circumstances. As Haiti faces one of its most challenging seasons yet, I’m writing to share three vital ways you can continue making a difference—both today and for the future.
1) Hurricane Melissa Relief & Humanitarian Response
Hurricane Melissa has left widespread devastation across southern Haiti—a crisis that much of the world’s media has ignored. The storm compounded an already dire situation marked by political upheaval, gang-controlled regions, collapsing infrastructure, and severe shortages of food and clean water.
Even amid these overwhelming challenges, our Haitian brothers and sisters in Christ remain steadfast. Committed to serving “the least of these,” LOTM is again partnering with our local team and trusted contacts to deliver aid using motorcycles, mules, and other creative means to reach those isolated by violence or impassable roads.
Your immediate gift to the Hurricane Relief Fund will help provide:
• Emergency food, clean water, and medical supplies.
• Transportation and logistics support to reach remote areas.
• Direct partnerships with local churches and Christian workers who serve faithfully despite danger and loss.
Your generosity today ensures that those who have lost everything can still receive the basics they need—and the message of hope they desperately long to hear.
2) The Dame Marie Project — Restoring a Voice of Hope
On the far western tip of Haiti lies Dame Marie, a community that has long been home to a large and faithful Radio Lumière listenership. Radio Lumière brings Christian teaching, encouragement, and the assurance of God’s love to tens of thousands across the country—especially to those living in fear amid gang violence and instability.
Tragically, our mountaintop transmitter site in Dame Marie was destroyed by thieves, leaving only a small, limited signal from downtown that no longer reaches the full region. We still have the strong tower and building at the original mountaintop location, but we need help to restore full broadcasting power.
Your support for the Dame Marie Project will help us:
• Replace solar panels, inverters, batteries, and radio transmitters needed to power the site.
• Construct a security fence and hire a local watchman to protect the investment.
• Re-establish a powerful Christian voice of hope to more than 10,000 additional listeners in the area.
One Haitian pastor told us, “Our people are thirsting for the Radio Lumière station.” With your partnership, that thirst for God’s Word can be quenched once again.
3) Legacy & Operational Support — Planning Your Enduring Impact
Last week marked National Estate Planning Week, reminding us to ensure our plans reflect the values and causes closest to our hearts. Have you considered including Least of These Ministries in your estate or financial plans?
A planned gift is a meaningful way to continue your compassion and commitment long into the future. You can:
• Include LOTM in your will, designating a dollar amount or percentage of your estate.
• Name LOTM as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or other retirement plan.
• Donate a Certificate of Deposit (CD) or similar asset by naming LOTM as beneficiary.
• Establish a Gift Annuity, providing income for yourself now and a gift for ministry later.
If you’d like to explore these options, please reach out. I’d be honored to walk you through how your personal plans can create lasting impact for Haiti and for the Kingdom.
Here are three Ways You Can Partner with LOTM TODAY
1. Hurricane Relief – Provide urgent aid to those suffering in the wake of Hurricane Melissa.
2. The Dame Marie Project – Rebuild and restore a Christian radio voice of hope for western Haiti.
3. Legacy & Operational Support – Ensure that LOTM’s mission continues for generations to come.
Thank you for standing with us—and with Haiti’s faithful—so that even in the hardest times, the least of these will know that God has not forgotten them.
With deep gratitude,
Dale Long
